I didn’t do shots but if I could estimate I probably just did about 3 shots of whiskey and feel nothing. (35.5% alcohol) I really don’t know anything about alcohol so sorry that this sounds dumb.

2021.11.26 23:49 imnotagirl_janet Knoxville Christmas Gifts
Hi all- I want to get my partner an event oriented Christmas gift, something that we can do together. My gut thought was Knox Brew Tours, but before I commit I’m wondering if there are other good gift ideas out there of local to-do things in Knoxville. I figured others in the community may benefit from a thread like this too! They don’t have to just be drinking oriented.

2021.11.26 23:49 iwantyoutowin Very strange and crippling issue, seeking advice please
Male Age: 28 Height: 6'2 Caucasian Duration of issue: Roughly 14 months Drugs/drinking/smoking: NONE Past issues: OCD/depression/multiple herniated discs in cervical spine/postural problem from previous sales/office work
Hi, this may seem like a bit of a long post, but please bear with me.
So around the middle of August 2020 I began to develop a phobia of swallowing foods and liquids that has since spiraled out of control and brought on levels of anxiety that have completely taken over my life.
Because of this, I have lost 25 lbs and have been suffering from really bad malnutrition. From August 2020 to around Feb 2021 it was somewhat tolerable but has since gotten much worse and it feels like I'm in a really bad place with my physical health. No matter what I do, I can never get an adequate amount of calories each day. Also, certain foods that require more chewing like meats, etc feel strange to eat and sometimes trigger sensations of choking.
In the past months I've dealt with chronic dehydration (sometimes so intense that I'd rush to this place near me that does I.V. hydration to hydrate and re-stabilize because I'd be too fearful of actually drinking wateliquids (which I still am). As crazy as this sounds, the only way I actually hydrate myself now is by using this thickening stuff and mixing it with water & flavoring drops.
My body feels very physically weak and achy everyday and tasks I used to be able to do with ease have become more difficult. Even doing a simple push up feels challenging as it seems like I’ve lost a ton of muscle mass. I also have virtually zero sex drive and whenever I do get erections, the quality of them are horrible. I get physically fatigued very easily as well.
Over the course of this time, I’ve developed very strange physical symptoms I believe to be triggered by the anxiety. I get alot of muscle tension around my scalp and whenever I consume foods, I get terrible muscle tension all around my jawline on both sides. Also, my tongue constantly tenses up and I’ll often swallow with it elevated higher in my mouth, like its never in a state of relaxation. I’m always trying to manually control the swallowing. Its as if the “natural flow” of it is gone. It’s all conscious thought and not automatic like normal, even though I can still feel the automatic reflex when the food hits a certain point. Sometimes it will even feel like I’m forcing myself to swallow and I’ll hear a clicking noise internally.
When I'm eating, I'm never thinking about how good the food tastes. I'm always focused on the swallowing, controlling it, and the fear. The is no enjoyment whatsoever.
In regards to drinking liquids, I literally can't do it. If I try, I feel like I need to take 2 gulps, and "time them" just the right way. It's like a hyper active reflex that has developed, and I'll get a tickling, choking type sensation. It always causes pain because I can't do it properly. The liquid will go down, but it's uncomfortable and sometimes even feels painful, like its being forced down. So I use this disgusting Thick It stuff and mix it with water and flavoring drops or iced tea mix. I'll usually have the equivalent of 3-4 water bottles a day, but it's painstaking to do.
In addition, I often get the sensation that my tongue is being pulled out and up out of my mouth, and sometimes I’ll feel radiating pain towards the way back and directly below the chin, like somebody stabbed me with a knife or pencil type object. Sometimes it’ll linger for 3-4 hours and then fade away. Also I’ll often get gashes and cuts on the side of my tongue from sometimes grinding it against my teeth and twirling the food around as I chew. I chew sometimes in a weird, slow way and food never feels comfortable in my mouth. It'll even feel like I'm forcing myself to swallow and using my tongue in an unnatural, weird way. For example, oftentimes I'll get the food to the back of my mouth after chewing slowly and then tense/freeze up a bit, then initiate the swallow without using my tongue like normal. It'll go down fine, like there aren't any issues with my esophagus or anything, but sometimes my tongue and the other muscles around my jawline and in that area will feel painful, like a pins a needles sensation for a bit that eventually goes away. It's very strange and very unsettling.
Another weird thing that happens, is sometimes I won't be able to speak as clearly for a little while, like my tongue/speaking/vocal muscles are messed up. My tongue feels like it's in a constant state of tension and physically feels different.
These challenges have made me develop horrible fears of getting dysphagia and other swallowing disorders and weakening/losing control of my swallowing/all my eating and drinking ability.
On top of all this, I recently had an anterior cervical fusion surgery on c5-C6 in August 2021 for a herniated disc. The surgery went well, but the aftermath has brought on an entirely new layer of anxiety. I currently have 3 other (very minor, which the surgeon felt didn’t warrant any surgery) bulging/herniated discs, and throughout my recovery I’ve developed a lot of fear of re-injury and a strange hyper-awareness of bodily movements. Like for example when I lean down to pick something up, or if I accidentally trip on something and jolt my neck rapidly I'll start worrying that I'm gunna mess up my discs again and go back to square one.
I have a history of OCD, but that has resolved itself. Over the past 11 years I have been prescribed Zoloft (back in 2016, which caused depression), Paxil (2010-2015, caused terrible withdrawal symptoms), Buspar (2020), Cymbalta (2015-2016), insomnia & withdrawal symptoms), Effexor (2010) and only recently in early October this year, Lexapro, prescribed by a psychiatrist. That did not work either.
In the past I have also seen a hypnotist, and a neurologist (he prescribed me the Buspar, which made me feel very dull and spaced out). I've been totally off medication for about a month now and really don't want to go back to it. There is a history of addiction in my family with Xanax so I don't want to be on anything like that either.
I am truly at wits end with my anxiety and horrible mental health and I feel like I’m walking on eggshells everyday. The vitality and high vibration I used to have are completely gone. I feel like a shell of a human and very mentally and physically frail. It's like I've created a mental prison that I can't escape from. My work has become impacted as well, and I feel totally lost without a map. I have tried getting myself help, but nothing has worked. I don't know anybody in my network who has experienced anything like this.
There is nothing more I desire than to feel normal again. To have inner peace. To be able to actually throughly enjoy foods and drinks, to be able to have my social life back. To be free of these toxic, absurd, shattering thoughts and painful existence.
Could you possibly share any advice with me on how to move forward and conquer this? Perhaps what kind of specialist I should consider seeing? And could you tell me whether or not anything I'm doing regarding the swallowing is truly physically harmful to me long term or poses any risks?
I know this isn't a mental health sub but I am very very concerned about the physical struggles of mine caused by it, and I feel I can't sustain this for much longer. I am truly at rock bottom.
I appreciate you taking the time to read this and thank you in advance.

Hi everyone! I'm a UX design student currently working on my capstone project, a cannabis delivery app. I need some marijuana enthusiasts to complete a quick 2 min survey that will help me gain insight into the potential users of the app and what their needs/preferences are.
Here's the survey: https://forms.gle/3szWEuabueha23hD9
Alternatively, if you don't want to complete the survey, feel free to message me any suggestions you may have! Your perspective is greatly appreciated!
Thanks so much!

2021.11.26 23:49 bittercheer YOUR COACH SHOULDN’T BE MAKING COMMENTS ON YOUR WEIGHT/DIET
I’m saying this because a gym made a public social media post about how flyers should limit what they eat on Thanksgiving. And I know other gyms have shared the same sentiment, just privately.
There is no set weight to be a flyer. There is no set weight to a cheerleader at all. As long as you are healthy, your weight does not matter.
Your coach is not a doctor or licensed dietitian. They have no expertise or business telling you what to eat or making judgements about your health or diet.
They should never, ever, tell you you look big, remind you that you “want to look good” in a uniform, tell you to lose weight (even if it’s just a few pounds), tell you to skip meals, limit your intake, etc.
If you’re a coach out there who thinks comments like these motivate athletes or encourage them to be healthy or whatever, you need to stop and educate yourself on eating disorders and how you can help prevent them.
YOUR BODY NEEDS FUEL TO CHEER. FOOD IS FUEL. FUEL YOUR BODY.
